SINGAPORE, 15 November 2024 – ComfortDelGro ENGIE (CDG ENGIE), a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, today announced that it will be marking its third anniversary with the operationalisation of its 1,000th charge point in Singapore and the rollout of a new mobile app offering enhanced features for a more seamless charging experience.
Speaker of Parliament Mr Seah Kiang Peng will unveil the 1,000th charge point on 16 November 2024 at Block 333 Serangoon Ave 3. Located near a major transport and retail hub, the charging station enables drivers to conveniently charge their vehicles while going about their daily routines. This milestone reflects the company’s extensive footprint across Singapore, with CDG ENGIE now serving 26 housing estates islandwide.
Beyond Singapore, CDG ENGIE has made significant strides in expanding its EV charging network across Southeast Asia. In just three years, the company has rapidly grown, from winning Singapore’s pilot EV charging infrastructure tender in 2021 to establishing the largest cross-border roaming network in the region through strategic partnerships with ChargeEV and Gentari, with over 2,700 charge points operational in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Mr Freddie Chew, General Manager of CDG ENGIE said, “As we celebrate our third anniversary, we’re not just looking back at our achievements, but forward to the future of sustainable mobility. Reaching our 1,000th charge point in Singapore is a testament to our rapid growth and unwavering commitment to a greener future, while our expanding cross-border network alliance with like- minded partners further cements our position as a leader in EV charging solutions offering greater value to our customers for their charging needs, anywhere and everywhere.”
To enhance the charging experience, CDG ENGIE will be launching a new mobile app later this year, which allows users to plan long road trips, with the app calculating necessary charging stops based on the state-of-charge by vehicle type. With the app, users also have full access to charging stations under the regional alliance across Malaysia, a feature that was initiated in the previous application. The app maintains its convenient pay-per-charge model without requiring prepaid value, while introducing several new features including in-app notifications of charger availability, tracking of carbon emission savings, and a summary of savings and usage.
New features offering greater convenience to fleet partners, including customised backend dashboards and loyalty programmes are also in the pipeline. CDG ENGIE is also trialling automated charging, which would allow instant charging based on the car’s ID linked with their CDG ENGIE account without the need to use the RFID cards or the mobile app.
”We aim to make our customers’ charging experience seamless, fuss-free and rewarding as their preferred EV charging operator of choice. We will continue to innovate and improve, while providing personalised experience and support for our customers,” added Mr Chew.
