ComfortDelGro, has through its subsidiary, Jilin ComfortDelGro Taxi Co., Ltd, incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary Jilin ComfortDelGro Driver Training in Jilin City, China.
ComfortDelGro’s subsidiary in Sydney, ComfortDelGro Cabcharge, rolled out five double decks under its Hillsbus brand.
ComfortDelGro expanded its operations in Australia through the acquisition of Driver Group Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Victoria for approximately A$22.0 million (S$27.0 million). Established in 1931, the Driver Group is a family-owned transport and tourism company that operates metropolitan bus routes under a long-term contract with the Victorian Government in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
ComfortDelGro, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Metroline, acquired part of FirstGroup plcs London bus business, comprising 494 buses operating from five West London garages – Alperton, Greenford, Hayes, Uxbridge and Willesden Junction – for £57.5 million (S$111.1 million).
ComfortDelGro celebrated its 10th Anniversary and produced its 10th Anniversary Coffee Table Book, “Up Close With ComfortDelGro: The Untold Stories”.
Metroline, which runs 80 routes through an area that extends from North to West London, including Central London and the City, became the first bus operator to to be chosen by the Mayor to run Route 24 comprising only of the New Bus for London by mid-year.
ComfortDelGro was re-awarded the “Eco Office Label” by the Singapore Environmental Council (SEC) from 2012 to 2014.
ComfortDelGro was runner up in the Travel, Leisure & Automobiles & Parts category for the Most Transparent Company Award at the SIAS Investors’ Choice Award 2012.
ComfortDelGro expanded its Australian operations through an A$53 Million acquisition of Deane’s Bus Lines Pty Ltd and Transborder Express – both of which are part of Deane’s Transit Group (DTG).
